What is Laser Hair Removal and how does it work? Back to top
Lasers used for hair removal are absorbed by Melanin. The GentleMAX & GentleYAG system, a revolutionary Alexanrite & long-pulse high energy laser emits a beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicles where it is absorbed. The laser energy is transformed into heat. This destroys the hair follicle leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. After a series of treatments the follicles become sterile which prevents the reproduction of further hair growth.
Our FDA and TAG approved laser is equipped with a Dynamic Cooling Device. Cryogen is sprayed onto the skin, cooling the upper layers and providing patients with increased comfort.
This Both systems effectively painlessly treats the unwanted hair without causing any damage to the skin.
Hair grows in cycles. The number of treatments required depends upon your skin colour, hair colour and coarseness of the hair. Everyone will require at least 4-6 treatments as the process is only effective on hair during the early growing cycle. Repeat sessions will be necessary to treat these follicles when they re-enter the early growth phase.
Every treatment, like every patient, is unique. Individual treatments will vary according to skin and hair colour, the lighter the patient's skin and the darker the hair, the better the results to be expected. If an individual has dark skin and dark hair they can still be treated, but may require additional treatments. We can treat all ages, Male and Female patients.
Blonde, Red or Grey hair can not be treated. However, nomore Laser & Skin care Clinic can offer you a waxing alternative.
Once your treatment has started, forcing the hair from the follicle will reverse the effect of the treatment. Therefore waxing, plucking and emjoy are not recommended. However, patient may shave, trim, use depilatory creams or clippers between treatments.
After receiving a treatment on more visible areas (example - facial area), patients may return to work or your daily activities shortly after the treatment, as there may only be slight redness which will dissipate within 1 hour. You may apply make up to the facial area within 30 min after the treatment.
CANDELA GentleMAX & YAG is a genuine Laser; it is not an IPL or Intense Pulse Light machine. Both delivers light at one specific wavelength, which is specific for hair. The energy that is used is much more effective and safer in destroying the hair follicle.
IPL machines deliver a wide range of wavelengths and have a higher risk in damaging skin at higher energy levels. These wavelengths only operate at a superficial depth.
Patients will receive greater results from a GentleMax & YAG treatment and therefore will require fewer sessions.
For SAFE and RELIABLE results, be sure the treatment you choose is with a GentleYMAX or YAG. Be aware that most clinics do not have and are not trained to operate CANDELA GentleMAX or YAG, but try to claim that IPL is an equivalent.
What is laser therapy and how does it work? Back to top
Laser therapy is a safe, effective, and commonly used treatment, providing optimal results in the removal of unwanted hair. Lasers work by delivering an intense beam of light that is absorbed by the skin. This light is converted to heat and is absorbed by the cells being targeted, while leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected. Our lasers feature a patented skin-cooling device for even greater patient comfort and safety and better results.

We can treat Women and Men of all ages. Children under 16 will require a presence of a parent on the first consultation or a parent's written consent. Not recommended for pregnent women.

On average we recommend 6 - 8 treatments. Some patients may require additional treatments, depending on the individual. Treatments should be repeated every 4-6 weeks apart depending on the hair growth rate.
